feelies.org exists to provide a service whereby authors can offer high-quality feelies with their games without having to go to the expense of pre-printing them in large numbers, or the trouble of distributing them once they are prepared. From the author's perspective, the task is simple: prepare the feelies with us by sending us jpegs or other print-quality images of any printed materials to go with the game, along with instructions about the paper type and layout on which they are to appear. Once the setup is complete, feelies.org lists the game in the catalog. We will print the feelies and distribute them, usually on a print-on-demand basis. Alternatively, if the feelies need to be done in a larger batch, we'll print when there are enough pre-orders to pay for them. If you're interested what sorts of feelies have been made before feelies.org (a great source for ideas), there is a complete list of Infocom feelies on the Interactive Fiction Archive and scans and photographs of some of the same items can be found at the Infocom Gallery. Gunther Schmidl has also detailed many of the feelies produced for shareware games, some of which are now available in our catalog! We reserve the right to approve or disapprove contents of feelie packets for any reason. |
